STEM Holiday/Summer Camp (STEM NOLA)

Provided By
Children race toy boats using straws to blow them forward.

STEM Global Action and STEM NOLA Summer camps served students highlighting the advancements in Artificial Intelligence. Using tools such as Google’s Teachable Machine, students trained their own Machine Learning models and deployed them in their own applications. The students walked away with access to their very own AI powered applications. Participants also learned what Archimedes’ Principle is and why things float. Kids also got hands-on with the environment and learned how to make things grow and keep the earth green. They got hands-on with reactions by creating chemical reactions and learned the difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions. Participants learned about sound, how sound travels, what frequency and pitch mean and how it affects sound. They explored properties of human anatomy like the heart, lungs, and circulatory system. They saw how human anatomy compares to present-day technology. Participants learned how electricity flows and connect how circuits are used in everyday life through robotics and technology. Students went through multiple hands-on activities related to the week’s topic and used what they learn to make real-life applications.
