DSEC Overview

DoD depends on nearly 300,000 STEM professionals across the Defense Laboratory Enterprise to meet national defense challenges and critical technology areas (outlined in the appendix). In alignment with the Federal STEM Education Strategic Plan, DoD is investing in evidence-based approaches to stimulate and develop science and technology workforce pathways across the United States.

DSEC is a collaborative partnership among academia, industry, not-for-profit organizations, and government that aims to broaden STEM literacy and develop a diverse and agile future workforce to power the United States’ innovative defense infrastructure.
